I found out yesterday that I have been accepted into University of Cape Town's study abroad program. So in January I'll fly out to Cape Town and live there until June, cool right?
So why South Africa? Honestly I have no idea. I was looking through Ithaca's list of study abroad programs and kind of just picked it randomly. I mean I ruled out english speaking countries (Australia, Canada. UK, Ireland), decided I didn't want to go to Europe (I'll probably be able to go to Europe at some point), don't speak spanish (bye central and south america) so that left Asia and Africa. My initial choice was Japan, I went there in High School and fell in love with the country but after the Tsunami Ithaca dropped it as an affiliated program, meaning I couldn't go. Looking at the list again I decided South Africa because why not?
Yes I know that because I speak French and German that Europe would be the logical choice but Europe just seems...boring. or at least compare to Africa. Seriously, how many people that you know went to South Africa?
Anyways this is where i'll be living:
